success:
I installed latest server 5.085 (Mac) and app v. 5.088 and I immediately tried “sending and receiving to IAA/Audiobus Apps”. Sending audio to AUM works now, fantastic, thank you!
Just tested out with Audiobus–>AUM–>Studiomux. I really like this workflow because I can then record video of the iPad into Quicktime on the Mac, with all the channels summed, but then still utilize the Studiomux plugins in a Host for further processing, routing etc. I think all that’s missing is that normally Studiomux shows as an 18/2 Audio Device in Audio MIDI Setup. Hope that’ll be returning. AB3–AUM–Studiomux–Quicktime
And what kind of application is 5.088? Do you mean? Please share the link. Where can I get it?
ok, sorry. I meant studiomux app 5.088 for iOS, installed via TestFlight.
And thanks, Aud-iOS for the link.
This is the server, found right on top of this page.
Could somebody please explain this to me?
Device-specific latency where all Studiomux settings are identical: iPhone 7+ (2016) vs iPad Pro 10.5" (2017)
-iPhone 7+ is stable enough and exhibits latency low enough for real-time musical performance.
-iPad Pro 10.5" is very laggy – too laggy for real-time performance.
Why why why? It doesn’t happen with IDAM.
Is it a hardware thing?
Both iOS devices are on iOS 14.5.1. (in combo with macOS is 11.3.1).
UPDATED 2021-06-07: iPadOS 14.7 (beta) / iPhone iOS 14.6 / macOS 11.4
Pascal greetings. Does it make sense for me to try 5.088 via TestFlight with Windows server?
Sorry to hear.
Your 5085 log indicates, that everything is installed properly, so it should run fine. Unfortunately,
The new Testflight App won’t fix the crashing server. You will encouter the same issues.
We are currently working on a solution for windows, that does not require any preinstalled dependecies (iTunes). But it will need some more time. On mac we already got the USB connection working without iTunes, but windows is a bit more tricky.
Could you please try the latest server, and send a log again.
Hi,
we finalised the first server for win that operates without the need of virtualMIDI and a specific iTunes version being installed.
So far it takes up to 5 seconds until the connection will be established in case the mobile device was connected via USB before the server started.
Best

Hi all, I’m new here.
I’ve downloaded and installed to a Mac Air M1…
I got 3 channels of audio from AUM into Studiomux into Ableton.
Only 3 as it’s late at night… but this is very promising!
Thanks! I will try further tests in the near future.
Hi Pascal, I would really appreciate it if you could answer this question I posted a month ago since nobody else knows the answer and you’re the developer.
Thanks
Hi Pascal and thank you for this update.
This is the first time that I don’t get a loud noise after selecting the channel in the VST3 plugin.
I made a quick video testing this new version and it seems that works fine until now.
I will test it in my main computer for audio work trying to find some issues, if any.

Any news on VST2 support?
Sorry, actually i have no answer to that question yet. The latency should only be affected by the buffer size and increase with it.
Can you please let me know which buffersize is used on the iPad Pro?
Hi, the latest OSX server already contains VST 2 plugins.

Is similar coming to the windows server? (VST2)
Thanks for your reply Pascal,
Using the 128-sample buffer in the SMUX iOS app after deactivating the 512-sample buffer as both are ticked/selected by default upon opening the app.
FYI, the settings are identical in both iPhone and iPad Pro so I’m really not sure why they behave so very differently.
Also will give the new beta server a try. Thanks.
Hey when this is done we should have a forum post for ios synth apps that are confirmed to work with this. For example Animoog does not work on the current version 4. I tried several times and it crashes.
Hi,
unfortunately i could not recreate the high latency with my iPad Pro 1st gen, but i added a more detailed logging in the studiomux server, that will hopefully clarify the situation.
I’m currently on holidays unable to upload a new version, but i will do so when i’m back on sunday.

Hi Pascal,
the current studiomux app 5.088 provides everything I need at the moment and is stable enough that I will risk to use it in a concert in August. But the test period will expire a few days before the concert. I am a bit worried about that.
Would it be possible to reset the test period now? Because – if you are making an update during the next few weeks (hopefully, of course), and there are any problems, then I could roll back to this version, as a safety option.
Thanks!
