Still no luck, I cannot connect with latest 1.708 dmg server.
Very, very frustrating! for 10 years now, Touchable 1, 2, 3 used to work like a charm. Why Touchable Pro is such a nightmare?
I tried to send my logs via the “Send logs to zdb” option but there is no way to know if you receive something. Then here is my log:

Hi guys,

I have rather big problems using Touchable Pro right now for my Live Performance-Setup.
It is a big project with like 40 tracks and around 150 scenes (which work well for itself).
Whenever I select touchable as midi script and start the touchable-server, the project gets laggy as hell (unusable for me).
I am on Mojave (Macbook Pro 15 2015) using Live 10.1.40beta and the 1708 Server/Scripts
I have the impression that earlier versions worked way better with that project, but unfortunately I cannot download the old servers/scripts (even though there are some linke provided on the beta download page, but those are dead).
Could you make them available again :)? At least maybe the 1650 phil75 talked about, I wanted to try this one.

EDIT: I found a download for 1662/1673 - this one seems to work. At last it does not slow down everything :slight_smile:

thanks i received the logs. I will investigate the changes between 1673 and the latest server. Some other users report similar issues.

Hey Pascal,

thanks for the quick fix - 1710 seems to work again. The only thing I’m missing now are my scene names/colors ;). This is just true existing scenes - whenever I edit a scene, the color and name are displayed correct
EDIT 2: After reloading the complete liveset the names are back again!
EDIT 3: Ok, seems that I will have this problem every 1st time of loading a set - reloading fixes this. This time thee first 5 scenes have been setup correctly on the 1st load

Thank you very much for the new 1710 beta. At last, connection works again and using is not sluggish! Great news for my next gigs!
I will have a deeper test in the next few days but as a first feedback I noticed:

  • As lebasti mentioned, huge sets need to be reloaded twice to have color and name scenes
  • Arrangement view do not display clips.
  • Occasional application crashes when loading a new live set.
    I sent a log.

Apologies if this has been answered; it’s a long thread. I’m running TouchAble Pro with Live 10 on Windows 10 and it has suddenly stopped working. I run the TP server, I open Ableton, I start TP, it shows the splash screen and then disappears. I was running v.1566, which produced these log entries:

I updated to v.1708 and it still won’t run, but now I get log entries like this:

(That last line is repeated 30 times, but after the first 3 you get the drift.)

Please help! For what it’s worth, I gave zerodebug a shout-out in the credits of my first album (Terminal, “Blacken the Skies”, out now on Metropolis Records!) You can see how important this application is to my work.

Update: Installed 1.712. Still no dice.

Thanks for the feedback. To fix the issues with big sets, we had to completely change the way we send data from Live to touchAble. Formely we send all data within the the callback loop/thread provided by Live. Which is probably the recommended way … But unfortunatly this caused our network connection to hung up/time out, when sending huge amount of data. In the latest version we tried to circumvent the timeouts by passing Live’s data to our own send thread running in background not interferring with Live, which seems to work pretty good.

This maybe caused due to the asynchronous way of sending of data, we may have to adjust the script, to make sure that data is sene in the right order. I also observered that the feedback behaviour is sometimes a bit laggy now.

sorry for the inconvenience. As i understand you right you run touchAble (UWP) on the same device than Live and the touchable server? And your UWP version is 1566? We recommend to stick with the latest official server version, when using the touchAble App release version.

Did it stop working out of the blue or after updating the App/Server/Live?

i found and fixed the scene loading issue.

Due to the bad internet connection i cannot upload a new server, so you will have to replace the file yourself. I mentioned the file location below.

Cheers Pascal, thank you for the response. Correct that I run everything on the same machine. I was using 1566 and it indeed stopped working abruptly; I hadn’t updated it or Live in over a year. The only think I can think of that may have updated recently is Windows. I’m using Windows 10 Home v. 21H1 build 19043.1052, if that helps. The hardware is an AMD Ryzen 7 1700 3GHz + 32 GB RAM. Thanks for any help you can provide!

Follow-up: The Touchable Pro app itself seems to be version 2.668.0.0.

I reinstalled everything from 1.671 but the application still gets only as far as the splash screen before it shuts down. Current log:
