Dissapointed…it had been beautiful for a long time till now. Wifi doesn’t work anymore on MacBook pro mid 2012. Now I need to use the usb connection, wich it means, anoter usb port…
I stopted to ask an update fr studiomux because I find another way to work with my iPad, now this…I will never update this apps anymore…
I believe Ableton is a bitch to work with. They keep changing the their scripts and implementations.
I honestly don’t blame developers of 3rd party app controllers, it’s just really difficult to deal with commercial software houses.
I see conflict of interests. Ableton surely doesn’t appreciate the fact that other developers will gain commercial value taking away potential profits from their own products.
I wanted to use Touchable Pro as a substitute to my Push 2. But because this difficult implementation it’s very unluckily that things will run smoothly.
I know Ableton since 2006, they always make life miserable to 3rd party developers and since then I’ve seen many promising projects failing.
I am a owner of the original Jazzmutant Lemur, I’ve paid that screen over 2500 euros back in 2008.
It was looking amazing, and with the Max4Live device called Mu they really were at the forefront.
Then, bang, Jazzmutant ceased to exist, technology advanced, Mu last compatibility and development was for Live 8.
Since then, I have a 2500 euros, low res 12inches screen made redundant with no updates, nor applications or support, a piece of junk.
I’ve tried to sell it on eBay and no one would buy it even for £100.
At least with Touchable is not so expensive, for what it offers.
It’s the raw and sad law of the jungle/business.
Let’s all try and keep up the support to this guys that they try and develop something out of the box.
I believe there’s much more hard work than payback to develop this kind of apps, we should all try to understand that before throwing tomatoes.
sorry for the inconvenience. Could you please check the Server’s and App’s settings? We added two options, that allow to disable ipv4 or ipv6 connections via wifi? These should be enabled by default?
If you have update the App for the first time on iOS14, please also allow Network connections via the dialog that pops up on first start.
Hey Pascal,
Thank for your work!
The app work quit fine for me, but i have troubles with the last update and server 1.668 that never happening before.
Explanations : i use TouchAble pro with my iPad and i use an other app with it (the Korg iElectribe) to create beats as an external instrument.
Every time i go back to TouchAble, a new connexion is create… after a while, i see to many connexion on the iPad, that made crash the server on the iMac…
Thank you!!
See the screen shot :
Pascal,
Thanks for your answer.
I tried it yesterday and it’s still the same.
The server update didn’t change the problem…
Thanks again and have a good day!

Application: touchAbleServer.exe
Framework Version: v4.0.30319
Description: The process was terminated due to an unhandled exception.

Any idea on how to debug this? These issues seem to have started after installing visual studio.
unfortunately i cannot give you concrete answeres how to fix the issue.
I just googled the “Faulting Application Path” description, and your issue maybe related to your firewall or any kind of security tool.
Since touchAbles creates various tcp and udp connections, it is sometimes detected as malware. Could you please try to deactivate 3rd party security tools?
I understand there’s a lot of context / machine specific stuff here, I’m just looking for a way to debug this (love the product, would love to continue using it).
I de-activated Microsoft Defender + Firewall (no other antivirus installed), retried & still crashes. Sometimes it shows the ‘locate your ableton installation’ window for a few seconds before it dies out.

Any further ideas, is there anyway I can see (logs of) what it is doing when it crashes?
In program files I found a 1671.txt, which contained:
