studiomux 5 beta

Hi all,
I want to share a little bit of success with you.
First I had a complete disaster with server v. 5026. Midi ports (iPad) did not update when changed, wrong names, could not delete old sessions, loading other sessions were merged, resulting in multiple instances of plugins … It looked like settings from studiomux 3 got mixed up with studiomux 5.
Then I deleted studiomux completely, also midimux 3 and installed studiomux 5 again. Immediately better. iPad was restarted automatically because of uptdate to iOS 14.4. Today, when I started the computer, tried again, iPad without cable, just WiFi connection, and all is fine! Now also with USB cable.
Of course, audio only in one direction, but Midi ports are updated correctly now and all work, studiomux virtual als well as individual ports. Also only in one direction, computer to iPad.
Tested with Logic in Mac OS 10.14.
Best,
Josef

I don’t really understand why, but the latency with my iPad Pro makes SMUX beta unusable. However, it works quite reasonably with my old iPhone 7+. Also, still doesn’t work on iPhone 6.

i have problems using the latest versions with my ipad pro 11 (2018). i get distorted audio (see screenshot) i sent a sinewave but in ableton i get a sound like an alarm (from low to high pitch). also i can’t get midi to work. i see in midi tab of studiomux PC but i can’t get midi signals from ableton to studiomux

my bad, sorry i was sharing my ipad lte connection via usb at the same time. now the audio is perfect

Are you getting undistorted audio playing in Ableton from the iPad? Windows or Mac?

I can stream audio from my iPad to my pc (Ableton 10)

I was also able to get midi working via AUM. But I had to use tow midi channel one for the notes sending to aum and one channel for the vst3 instrument to get audio from the iPad (and if I want to record audio I would need another track)

But I’m getting very low latency with is very nice

That’s really interesting,no luck with audio at all for me with any of the Beta builds thus far. Which server build are you running? Also which iPad os? Thanks…

Great ! Thank You. I am uninstalling everything Zerodebug related, & doing a fresh install of everything. See if that fixes it. Many thanks for your feedback…

No Joy…the audio channel in Ableton overloads as soon as i try to select the device.

What version of iTunes are you running? It’s odd that some people are getting it working. Are you on Win 10?

Cheers!

The developer should test this more, right? The audio burst is very dangerous. I paid for Studiomux and did not have success to use it yet, on Windows. But I solved it with USB Midi cable. Now I get two way midi connection. And audio…that would be nice to have, but I don’t trust this at the moment. With these issues, it will take about 5 to 10 more releases to get into more useable state.

I had to uninstall everything connected to zerodebug manually. Remove VST, delete zerodebug in program folder. Then do a clean install. I use windows 10.
best luck. And always turn off speaker and headphones first. Just to be save. Also do not share internet connection from iPad.I Hope this helps.

Thanks! I did a clean install as well, but no joy. What version of iTunes & Bonjour are you running? I am still getting the massive audio overload when selecting the device, which previous builds suffered from…

I tried 5.026 Server on Win 10 and the server won’t keep running. As soon as I hover over the icon in the taskbar it will disappear. No connection possible. Is this possibly connected to the Itunes version? Does it work for someone with the latest Itunes for PC?

Latest iTunes doesn’t work on win 10. 12.10.79 is recommended by Zerodebug team.

i do not use itunes. i have alternative drivers from touch able instalation.

it worked pretty well, but when i connected my computer to the wifi so i can use link, i got a destroyed signal again. probably some problem with the sample rate?

is there a way to use link via the usb cable?

Please make sure that Ableton Link will work on either IAA or AU apps loaded into Studiomux. This is currently an issue with Drambo!! The most popular music making app today. Studiomux 4 ableton link will not work on AU Instruments (which Drambo is) - There is currently no IAA version available within Studiomux 4.

While the play control and tempo adjustment in Studiomux respond to finger pressing the ipad itself , no changes to these in the DAW does through ableton link to Drambo using Studiomux. Drambo in standalone mode works fine.

Another request. Please allow loaded apps in studiomux to display their full normal screen instead of a small compressed on as if its nested inside of studiomux.

Also in Studiomux 4, in Bitwig if the studiomux window is minimized sound will go out. please do not let that happen in 5. 5 should be plug and play easy peazy and work everytime

You know - for a few minutes there I actually thought everything was great…. I’m running the latest server on osx v5027 and reinstalled the plugins. I used the AU plugin this time and everything connected smoothly - no burst of audio, no crashing. I played midi on my keyboard —> ableton —> studiomux on ios and got the audio back. Was impressed! Am hearing the audio from the ipad and a slight delay back into ableton, but nothing bad happened at all - was able to play around, switching presets on Model15 with no problem.

Started up another midi channel in Ableton, added another au. Selected my ipad as device — no issue. Selected a new channel and crash went ableton.

Still, it’s the smoothest / farthest I’ve gotten thus far.

Just tried again - same thing; though this time I noticed that the audio coming in had a bit of weird glitchiness – will get vid with audio
