studiomux 5 beta

v5.126 + Windows 10 (19)

VST3s crashes Reaper on initial VST scan

What iOS version. Do you hear sound on your iPad from the Animoog or other IAA app? Does any signal show up in the StudioMux meters?

iOS 14.7.1 on Iphone 7. Yeah, I hear some sounds with clipping and than no sounds on Laptop.
As for me, I have damn small screen on Iphone 7 for making music, so I donā€™t prefer to use AUv3 versions of apps, IAA for me is more comfortable in terms of usability of interface.

In Studiomux app I hear sounds and see some indications.

Do you have another host to try on your Windows machine to see if the issue is BitWig specific?

Since you are hearing distortion on your iPhone itself, it seems like you are also having a problem on the iOS side. Those apps you mention are working fine for me in StudioMux.

i wonder if it might be worth uninstalling StudioMux, hard resetting the phone and then reinstalling StudioMux. that process has solved issues before for people experiencing anomalies like this.

Will try, but I do uninstall and hard reset after each new versionā€¦

I have only Bitwig for testing on Win10, x64

Ok, I give . . .

beta or is it live? Is there a different server v I should be using for what is in the app store?

my setup:
iPad Pro 12.9 (2nd gen) iOS version 14.7.1
Windows 10 (x64)

What is in the app store is v5.123, yet, your server is v5.125 ??

I am getting an audio anomalies that is not conducive to making music.
ā€¦then it magically goes away -

I have had enough, loading reloading guessing the right load order and hope it all works - but then get noise - to be fair, sometime it works, but I am now concern the versions are mix/match and could be causing issues

I have tried a more complex configuration, but thought I would strip down to the very basic - see screenshot. On my ipad, I moved AUM out of the mix, and using just studiomux to load IAA/AU instruments.

your Online Manual: well, is not . . .

I am in the beta testing pool - but decided against actually testing. I did sign up ā€“ so, I see a new version, should I use v5.128 that is in TestFlight with server v5.125?

What version of the server should I be using if using the ver from the app store?

Why does the buffer size in the app, 5.123 only go to 512?

edit: Failed to mention, frequent, if I click to select device, it will result in a total crash. Not just the VST3 blows out, but the entire host application - Bidule, Reaper, Ableton 11, etc . . . crashes. Could it be the ā€œconnection processā€ is not complete, even tho the cool iOS app icon illustrates its connected? I noticed a significant delay from that moment, until the server-menu indicated a good connectionā€¦

Help and guidanceā€¦

g~
ps: glad to see the new release is finally here, thank you !!!

EDIT: I doubled checked server versions:

latest server that I downloaded yesterday, and again today as you can see from the timestamps. The files say v5.126 but the vst3 show different ā€¦ v5.125 ?? you tell me. There is NO place on the server-menu showing the version either - this would be very helpful

Do you have Mac to try out to see if you have the same issue?

The distortion on the iPhone itself seems to indicate issues on the phone side. Is it the sort of crackling distortion associated with the processor not being able to keep up or clipping?

Nope. I test only Win10 / Bitwig + Iphone 7 integration. After 1 more uninstall and hard reset I could use IAA directly in Studiomux, but I hear sort of crackling sometimes and reconnection helps with this issue, but why these crackling is coming I canā€™t guess now. It just starts sometimes.

BTW have you succeeded in sending Transport Midi / Clock from Bitwig into iOS? As for now I can send only midi notes and expressions.

ā€¦this is the video of the audio anomaly. It is a a visual representation. Itā€™s not clipping, itā€™s a repetitive clicking/poppingā€¦as you can see from the display. This has no audio, I muted immediately. As I said, itā€™s happened several timesā€¦ different load starts, then something happens to cause it to stop for that session. I am using studiomux to load only 1 IAA

Crackling is typically a sign that the buffers are emptying faster than they are filledā€¦meaning the CPU is having trouble keeping up. What buffers were you running on the PC and iPhone?

How many IAA apps or AU were running?

so now that our working 4.0 version was replaced with a non working 5.0 version how do we request a refund?

I checked all buffers everywhere - 512 size is set everywhere. I test only 1 IAA app at a time.

How about sync (clock / transport)? Have you done it?

Be patient! This app is our only hope to use iOS gears with Win10 setup without need of any external audio interface! So help testing and describe all your issues!

I have used Ableton link to sync the Mac and iPad via Studiomux. Re, the crackling, it is a sign that the CPU isnā€™t keeping up with the demands. If you are using IAA apps, make sure to reboot your device before a session and remember that once an IAA has been launched, it may continue to use CPU even if it is no longer connected to a host.

further testing, decided to use beta v 5.128

audio captured ( do not play!!! )

view, this is just one event, it repeats

by unloading and reloading the server app, noise went away. once the noise shows up, the only way for it to go away, unload the server / reload server. no idea what triggers it to happen

I see! Glad to hear that link works! How did you do that? I have an option to use link in Bitwig, but when I test it, got 0 results. What was the algorithm of step by step actions? I turned on link in Studiomux and Bitwig but nothing happens.

Got similar response sometime, and also got couple of crashes that could report using test flight )

Is there any headway as to why audio doesnt work in Bitwig using windows 54 bit and ipad ios 12 on a mini 2? Is there something I am forgetting to setup in the settings?

Is anyone here using Studiomux with Logic? Someone on Audiobus forum is reporting latency on the order of >100 ms with it.

I got Studiomux Instrument VST into work. Check buffer size and sample resolution, so everything in Bitwg with those settings are the same as in Studiomux app. I load Studiomux server before Bitwig, but after Jack server. Than load Bitwig and add Instrument VST into instrument track. Than check if Studiomux server identifies your ipad as connected device. If so, you could pick ā€œdeviceā€ in VST window in Bitwig, and than pick channel (the same as in Studiomux app with instument you loaded there). If you channel in Studiomux app is empty - load up some AUv3 or IAA to that channel.

Than you can create a midi track in Bitwig corresponding to instrument channel or just use pianoroll and you could hear the result in Bitwig 0/
